People are always asking for a foundation or a list they can use to start their own business. From your business type to your physical location, there are so many variables and it’s not easy to come up with a list that will work for everyone.  It's important to prepare yourself for entrepreneurship.  There is a lot to consider and plan before you launch.   So here are a few things you need to think about and consider. 

• Why do you want to start a business?  Is it money, freedom, creativity, or some other reason?

•  Take some time to analyze your skills.  What are you good at and what you like to do.  Research the industry you've chosen.  Who will buy your products and/or services?  Who would be your competitor?  How much money is needed to start?

• Do you have a Business Plan?  Now's the time to have one.  A business plan defines your strategy, tactics and specific activities for execution, including key dates, deadlines and budgets and cash flow.

• Think about the legalities.  What will you name your business.  Will you be a sole proprietor, corporations, partnership or LLC.  After you've decided on your name, register your business.  Get the proper business license and permits.  Check into your insurance needs.
